Switch-a-Roos

I went to the Switch-a-Roos Fall consignment sale a few weeks ago hoping to find a few good deals. I agreed to volunteer and was able to go on volunteer night. The place was packed when I got there (an hour before the doors opened) but there was plenty to choose from. They had some really cute things and here ate just a few of the outfits I found...and brought home!

Water Park Fun

See ya mom!

Carson and Mackenzie off to play!

They had a blast splashing, running, laughing, swimming, sliding...
eating popsicles

and ended the day with a big wet hug!
It was almost impossible to get good pictures - they ran everywhere they went and in the end, mom put down the camera and enjoyed the splashes and giggles!

Zoo

On a crazy whim, Carson and I decided to visit the zoo last Thursday in the 95+ degree temps. She had a blast, didn't seem phased by the heat, drank a bottle of water, and looked as if she came out of the bathtub by the end of our visit - she was drenched in sweat! She loved the monkeys but was on a mission to find the alligators, goats, and pigs.

first monkeys

then the lion

a break to cool off

a stop to play on the playground

and finally the alligators and turtles...by far her favorites!
We had the best time despite the heat and left to find lunch and icecream to cool us off!

Dollhouse

This dollhouse is 25+ years old! My Mimi and Papa gave this to me as a gift and I vividly remember where it was in our old house and how much fun I had playing with this growing up. So...when I got to pass it down to Carson last week, memories rushed back! My mom has been hiding it in her garage until we were ready to bring it to Greenville. Carson and I spent Wednesday afternoon cleaning it, moving it in her room, and exploring all of the pieces inside. Mom and Dad still have some "decorating" to do inside to update the dollhouse, but it is in perfect shape and has already brought many smiles! I just hope she will have as many fun memories as I do!

Have crayons, will draw

Really? Someone thought bathtub crayons were a great idea? Clearly that toymaker is not a parent who has to clean this up!
Despite the words I thought of while cleaning this up, I do really like that Carson is using them to write her name (which she is really good at doing now) and using her imagination! Look carefully in the middle of all the "other" artwork for her name!
Happy Bathtime!

Sprinkler Fun

She ran

and ran

and had a great time playing in the sprinklers tonight. Eventually the neighbors joined us and we had an impromptu playdate in the rain under 3 umbrellas! Ahhh...summer!

MIA and Catching up!

We've been MIA from blogging world for over a year now and I really miss writing. I originally stopped due to frustration with blogspot and life got really hectic. We probably have no more blog followers and that's OK - I'll never know! :)

We are having a great summer so far! Most of our time is spent at the pool these days and we love every minute we're there. Carson is taking swim lessons for the first time and goes once a week for 30 minutes. She has NO fear of the water and will jump, belly flop, splash, and doggie paddle with no flotation to help! On Sunday, July 4th, she started "swimming" with her face in the water and was so proud of herself! Before, she would jump off the side of the pool and go under, but she did not want to swim face down. I haven't taken any pictures of her swimming yet since I'm in the pool at all times these days, but hopefully we can get one soon!

Chris and I recently left Carson for 8 days (our longest time to date) while we vacationed with my mom and brother in San Francisco, CA! We had a great time on the trip but it was sooo hard to leave her for that long. Carson, on the other hand, didn't skip a beat, and had a great time helping Mema in her garden and having tea parties with lemonade and teddy grahams in her finest jewels! Too cute!

Stay tuned for more fun...I promise to keep posting! :)
